Security Guard Involved in Fatal Shooting at Dream Weekend party Charged for Murder

Jean Mathieu, a 37-year-old businessman from St. Andrew and Canada lost his life during an altercation with a Security Guard at a Dream Weekend party at Cayenne Beach, Negril, Westmoreland, on the 3rd of August. It is alleged that the altercation developed because he was being denied access to the VIP area. Mathieu pulled his licensed firearm and the Guard then shot him in his chest and it was reported that he said he felt he needed to defend himself.

Mr. Mathieu was rushed to the Hospital where he was pronounced dead and Mr. Champagne an Attorney has been representing the Security Guard in the case.

It is alleged that the Security Guard Mike Chin and his family has been threatened by relatives of the deceased man and his full information has been posted on Social Media, putting his life and the lives of his family at risk.

It has been reported that the Director of Prosecution (DPP) has recently ruled that Mike Chin should be charged for Murder when he appears in the Westmoreland Parish Court on Friday.

His lawyer is hoping that the police will be able to properly investigate the matter so that the full truth can be presented to the Court.
