Sha’Carri Fails To Qualify For US 200m Team After Placing 5th

American sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson failed to qualify for the US 200m team at the US World Championship trials after placing fifth in the 200m race earlier today, June 26.
Richardson ran a time of 22.47 seconds in the semi-finals. The win was claimed by Abby Steiner, an NCAA Collegiate with a time of 21.80 seconds.
This was her last chance to qualify for an individual event to secure a spot on the US team to compete in the upcoming World Athletics Championships in Eugene Oregon set for July.
Prior to this race, Richardson placed 5th in the 100m event on June 23, with a time of 11.31 seconds. The winning time was 11.04 seconds by US sprinter Tamari Davis.
