Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Awarded $2.5MIL to 25 Student-Athletes Via Her Pocket Rocket Foundation

Three-time Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce continues to do remarkable work through her charitable organisation, the Pocket Rocket Foundation. Wednesday morning, she took to social media to inform her followers that 25 young athletes received $100, 000 each over the past year.
The calculation amounts to $2,500,000 being given out in awards. She wrote, “For 2023-2024, 25 student-athletes were awarded $100,000 each.”
She also stated, “Euvia of St. Elizabeth Technical is one of 6 recipients who will be exiting our scholarship program this year as they progress to tertiary education#WorkInProgressWednesday #IAmAPromise #StudentAthletes #SportsandEducation #SFPLegacy.”
The Facebook post features a photo of Shelly-Ann placing a pin on a female student’s school uniform. Additionally, the post features a message from the five-time World Champion, noting that she won her first Olympic gold medal in 2008 and urging young athletes not to be influenced by the doubts and fears of others.
The post was shared on Wednesday and has since received many positive responses from fans.
