With graduation season at its height in Jamaica, proud parents across the island are watching their children prepare for the next step in their lives. Mommy Rocket Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce may be used to time flying swiftly on the track, but the mom of one is still stunned at how quickly her son has grown up.
Fraser-Pryce tied the knot with her husband, Jason Pryce, in January 2011, and the sprinter would later announce her pregnancy during the athletic season in March 2017. The pregnancy came as a surprise not only to sporting fans but to Fraser-Pryce herself, who was preparing to defend her 100m title at the World Championships in London.
Nonetheless, Fraser-Pryce saw it as one of God’s many blessings, expressing in her announcement message that she was ready to be the best mother possible. Six years and multiple World Championship titles later, Fraser-Pryce is left wondering where the time has gone.
On Friday, the Olympian took to Instagram to share several photos from her son Zyon’s graduation and awards ceremony at Creative Kids Learning Academy last week. The proud mom announced that Zyon was heading to grade school, though she could hardly believe it as it felt like he had just been born.
“Nothing prepares you for how quickly time passes, so we are celebrating every moment and milestone as they come. Last week I watched my baby boy graduate from kindergarten. I mean, WOW, my son graduated kindergarten — I feel like he was JUST born!! 🤱,” Fraser-Price stated.

The thirty-six-year-old shared that watching Zyon mark this first milestone in his life was one of the most overwhelming parenting experiences she has had so far. At a loss for words on how to express how much it meant to her, Fraser-Pryce promised her son that she would be his biggest supporter.
“Zyon, we are so proud of you, and as I’ve said before, I will always be your biggest cheerleader. I promise I won’t embarrass you with the loud shouting,” Fraser-Price joked.
