After having a decent run in the first round, moments before Semi-Final 2 on Saturday, it was announced that the female considered to be the greatest female sprinter of all time had pulled out of the race hence leaving a vacant lane 5.

As per reports, the eight-time Olympic medallist felt ‘discomfort in her hamstring during warm-ups’ hence she pulled out of the race. Fraser-Pryce is yet to comment on the matter.

On the other hand, in a video shared online, hours before the race, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce expressed frustration after not being given entry through a gate that she previously used to enter the training area.

At the moment, Jamaica’s only hope of medalling in the final is via 19-year-old, Tia Clayton who won semifinal 3 on Saturday in the Women’s 100m.
