Renowned Jamaican Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has secured her second international sponsorship deal, joining several other distinguished athletes representing the luxury watch brand Richard Mille.
Fraser-Pryce made her long-awaited and highly anticipated debut on the track in the 200m heats at the 2023 JAAA/PUMA National Senior and Junior Championships at the National Stadium on July 8.
Finishing second in 22.26 seconds in the finals and having already secured her spot in the 100m, Fraser-Pryce qualified to represent Jamaica at the upcoming World Athletics Championships in Budapest.
The sprinter will be competing for her sixth 100m title, and according to SportsMax.TV, she will wear a Richard Mille watch during her race. Fraser-Pryce inked her deal with Richard Mille on July 1. The partnership will run over the course of the next three years and aid in funding the athlete’s Pocket Rocket Foundation, which awards yearly scholarships to high school athletes locally.
This is Fraser-Price’s first non-apparel endorsement deal outside of Jamaica, as she is currently sponsored by the American athletic footwear and apparel company Nike. Fraser-Price’s fellow Jamaican athlete, Yohan Blake, is also a member of the Richard Mille family and has partnered with the brand for over a decade.
Blake donned a special prototype edition watch from the brand during the London 2012 Olympic Games. Multiple special editions co-designed by Blake have since been released.
