Dancehall princess Shenseea is known for her grand philanthropic ventures and in celebration of ‘YengDay’, a day honoured on May 20th each year, her main focus will be placed on assisting two “ShengYeng’s” to complete their tertiary level education.
Through posts shared to her social media pages, the 25-year-old Jamaican entertainer announced that she will be paying the tuition fee of two persons who had to discontinue their studies due to financial difficulties.
Shenseea added that she shares the same sentiment with persons who are in this unfortunate situation as she too had to drop out of college due to a lack of funds. Before becoming the star that she is now, Shenseea, whose real name is Chinsea Lee attended the Excelsior Community College (ECC) where she was enrolled in the Hospitality Management degree programme, majoring in Entertainment Management.
A word of motivation that the “Blessed” artiste gave to her followers was that “persons who have dropped out of college or high school or whatever the case may be, you should not let it stop you from being successful, find another way”.
In 2017, Shenseea designated May 20 as “YengDay”, which is in celebration of her hit single titled ‘ShengYeng Anthem’. This single was recorded for her loyal fanbase and to show her appreciation, she declared that on this day each year, she will be giving back to her fans who have supported her throughout her music career.
Since its inception, Shenseea has donated to five (5) GoFundMe accounts, serenaded five lucky fans to dinner and also contributed to the household bills of five male fans. Additionally, she also paid the school fees of five children from high school and primary school across the world.
