In her third outing for the 2023 season, Jamaican Olympian Shericka Jackson is set to face Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith and Daryll Neita over the 60m on Saturday at the Birmingham World Indoor Tour Final.
Following her season opener win, Jackson fell short of her personal best for the 60m (7.04 seconds) and missed the finals at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston on February 4.
The world champion placed fifth during her heat with a time of 7.34 seconds but will no doubt be looking to greatly improve upon that time as she clashes with Asher-Smith and Neita.
Jackson will indeed need to be in excellent form during today’s meet to outsprint Asher-Smith, the fastest British woman on record.
The British athlete recently matched Jackson’s personal best, breaking European Indoor champion Asha Phillip’s 2017 record at the World Indoor Tour in Germany in January.
Jackson will also be required to fend off Asher-Smith’s countrywoman Neita, who is Britain’s current indoor champion.

On February 10, Neita nearly matched Jackson and Asher-Smith’s fastest time, clocking in at 7.05 seconds at the ISTAF Indoor Meeting in Berlin.
