Shericka Jackson Wins 200m in World Leading Time at Jamaica Trials, Fraser-Pryce 2nd – Watch Race

On Sunday night at the National Stadium in Kingston, Shericka Jackson ran the fastest time of 2023 so far over the 200-metre distance for females in a world-leading time of 21.71s.
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce finished second with a season’s best time of 22.26s.
As a result of this latest race, Jackson has the fastest times for both the sprint events for this year after running an impressive 10.65s in the 100-metre final on Friday.

According to Shericka, she will be trying to stay as “focus” as possible heading into the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Based on the results of the trials, the JAAA will select a team for the 2023 Budapest World Athletics Championships.
This year will mark the 19th edition of the World Athletics Championships which will be held from August 19 to 27.
Notable, Elaine Thompson-Herah did not take part in the 200-metre event after losing out a place on the 100m sprint team. It’s currently unclear if Thompson-Herah will travel to Budapest as a part of the relay pool of female athletes.
