Soldier Receives 18-Year Prison Sentence for Raping 17YO Girl
A member of the Jamaica Defence Force has been given 18 years in prison for raping a 17-year-old in 2015.
The guilty verdict was handed down in April, and the sentence was determined yesterday when Oral Bourne appeared in front of the Home Circuit Court.
A rape case was brought against Bourne after the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) opened an investigation into claims that Bourne had sexually assaulted a teenage girl.
Bourne, who denied the rape allegations, was convicted on three counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, and two counts of indecent assault.
