Son Kills Father after a Dispute

A man who had a dispute with his son at his home in, Green Pond, Capital Heights, St James is now dead because his son stabbed him many times with a large kitchen knife. 

The dead man was later identified as Luke Scarlett a 54-year-old man who was unemployed, and his son who is now in police custody is 38-year-old.

The police report stated that not long after 8:30 am there was an argument that escalated between father and son before loud noises were heard coming from the house. The son was seen leaving the house covered with blood after that and it is alleged that he was saying “mi tired a it now, mi tired a it”.

He told the neighbours that his father was stabbed by him and they should call the police before he walked away.
Father Had Multiple Stab Wounds.

Scarlett was found lying on his back with multiple stab wounds in a bedroom, the stab wounds were inflicted on his upper body. The police processed the scene and removed his body and a large kitchen knife.

The son eventually confessed to the police that he killed his father after he handed himself over to them. 

A neighbour told the police that he knew the father for a long time and said he knew that the deceased man bothered his son a lot.

He spoke about the son going to prison and getting released after he had served time, and the father trying to get him to leave the home.

He said he noticed that the son started going to church, in an effort to live a decent life, but the father kept on annoying him until the tragedy occurred.
