Spice Declares That She Has Been Celibate for One Year and Dismisses Rumoured Relationship with Kartel
Following her declaration that she has been celibate for one year, Queen of Dancehall Spice has clapped back at the many non-believers and talked about her rumoured relationship with fellow dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel.
On Wednesday, Spice, now a fixture on the popular reality show Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, shared a few photos on Instagram that were taken while she was in Atlanta, USA. Noting that she was rejuvenated, happy and that her skin was glowing, Spice shared that she had been celibate for one year and attributed her new glow to the lifestyle choice. The So Mi Like It deejay went on to disclose that this was her third time going celibate and explained that though she was known for creating explicit content, it was good to take a break.
“Ladies, I know I sing (a lot) of sexual explicit songs, but it’s ok to take a break and rest the Pum Pum. Now who’s joining me in going for another year?” Spice wrote.
After Lisa Mercedez jokingly said she would be joining Spice on her celibacy journey, Spice joked that she did not trust the singer and thought she would cheat. Some social media users seemingly thought Spice was the one doing the cheating and had not spent an entire year celibate. Multiple viewers questioned Spice about her past relationship with ex-boyfriend Justin Budd, whom the artiste confirmed she had broken up with in August 2022.
The Go Down Deh entertainer returned to Instagram on Thursday to address the naysayers and non-believers about her celibacy revelation, explaining that she did not have to use sex to achieve her success.
“I’ve been in this business for 20 years now, and I’ve never dated a Artist, Manager, Producer, Engineer, Bands member, or anyone to get where I am today. So run go check my file, and put some MF RESPECT ON MY NAME‼️” Spice stated.

The artiste also put an end to any misconceptions about her relationship with incarcerated deejay Vybz Kartel, flatly stating that she had never had sex with him. Spice went on to encourage her female supporters that success was attainable without sleeping around to get it.
