Spice Surpasses 1 Billion Views on Her YouTube Channel
The Queen of the Dancehall has surpassed one billion(1,000,000,000) views on her YouTube channel titled ‘Spice Official’. The milestone was reached in August 2024, after the release of her third studio album titled ‘Mirror 25’.
The Grammy-nominated platinum-gold-selling artist became the first Jamaican female artist to reach 900 million views in 2023, while in 2020, Spice became the first female to reach 1 million subscribers on the platform.
The St. Catherine native has three music videos surpassing 100M views each on the platform. Her music video with the most views is ‘Go Down Deh‘ ft Shaggy and Sean Paul having over 274 million views and 12 billion YouTube short views from reels containing audio from the single.
The all-Jamaican collaboration earned platinum status in Canada on February 6, 2024, and became eligible for Gold in the US in July of 2023. The single has sold over 700,000 equivalent units in the United States.
As a result, Spice is the first female Dancehall artist to sell Gold in the US with a lead song in over 30 years. The single has over 230 million streams on Spotify and is the most streamed song by a Jamaican-born female artist in the history of the platform.
Her second most viewed video on her YouTube channel is her 2014 solo hit “So Mi Like It” having over 124 million views and 85 million streams on Spotify. The single was certified gold in Canada on July 29, 2024.
In third place is “Conjugal Visit” by Spice ft Kartel with 114 million views.
