Statue of Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce will be Erected in Jamaica
[Sharingbuttons]The statue of Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is now ready to be erected. The announcement was made by the Sports Minister Olivia Grange recently. Shelly-Ann has made Jamaica proud many times as she is a seven-time world champion and still has a lot to offer.
The maquette will be unveiled at the end of this month, but the statue will be unveiled at the end of the track and field season. Shelly-Ann was quite pleased when she saw the maquette, the statue might be erected close to the one that was made for Usain Bolt in the statue park.
The sculpture for Shelly-Ann was designed by the Jamaican Sculptor Basil Watson who is a famous Jamaican. The Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports had commissioned a program that has caused statues to be made for great Jamaican athletes. It is a part of the Jamaica 55 program for last year.
Shelly-Ann’s statue is the 2nd of 4 statues to be erected as Jamaica shows gratitude to the National Track stars.
