In the Entertainment world, notable Jamaican producer Stephen Mcregor has collaborated with R&B’s own John Legend on two tracks from Legend’s new album entitled “Bigger Love”.
Going by the titles ” Bigger Love” and “Don’t Walk away” featuring reggae prodigy Koffee are the two songs done by the two artists on the project.
Mcregor who is well known as “Di Genius” while in an interview with a popular entertainment company mentioned that to start he met up with one of Legend’s A&R by the name of Shawn Holiday who thought it would be good to connect John and Di Genius in a session.
He further expressed how genuine it was to work with John, validating his experience with positive statements.
Steven Mcgregor noted that Don’t Walk away featuring Grammy-winning Koffee was the first project they worked on where he describes the creative process being Legend playing him the idea, sending the project to Koffee who did her verse and sent back and him working remotely to get things done. The song Don’t Walk away was also written with Kirby Lauren.
Mcrgregor went on to further discuss his involvement on the track by letting the interviewer know that the second song he produced entitled “Bigger Love” was already done wit Ryan Tedder, Zach Skelton, and Cautious Clayand but was worked on by him as requested by John Legend to give more of a Caribbean sound.
He continued by expressing his gratitude to be a part of the project and further mentioned that his involvement allowed him to keep fresh in the music.
Recent times have seen Mcrgegor working with big names such as HBO on their series Insecure, French Montana’s “Writing on the wall” featuring other International Artiste and Shenseea’s song major moves which was featured in the highly-rated Jamaican movie “Sprinter”.
The Jamaican producer also the son of Veteran Reggae Artiste Freddie Mcgregor explained in the interview that he does not box himself in a genre and always keeps an open mind which allows him to learn as well as to change his approach to be more international.
Mcgregor is notable for his production of projects such as Red Bull and Guinness riddim, Power cut riddim, and more while being known as an artiste for hits songs such as Cyaan friend again featuring his brother Chino Mcgregor as well as others.
