Student Killed in Westmoreland Gun Attack That Left Another Student Injured

As per reports, in the Grange Hill area of Westmoreland, two students, one male and one female, were shot by gunmen on a motorcycle on Thursday afternoon, with one of them tragically succumbing to their injuries.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 5pm as the students were walking along a road in Grange Hill following an event, believed to be a sports day at their school. They were ambushed by assailants riding a motorbike.
Both victims were rushed to the hospital, where the male student was pronounced dead. The female student received medical treatment and was admitted for further care. The deceased victim’s identity has not yet been disclosed.
Authorities from the Westmoreland police are currently investigating the incident.
In recent weeks there has been a rise in violence amongst schools and also internally in schools, resulting in the temporary closure of at least one high school in the corporate area.
Last week, one student was fatally stabbed, 15-year-old Irwin High School student Raniel Plummer. On the other hand, several students have been injured at various schools because of violence in recent weeks.
