School teachers across Jamaica have brought their protests against the government to the gates of the Ministry of Finance despite efforts by the Ministry of Labour to intervene with the teacher’s actions.

The Kingston Parish President of the JTA (Jamaica Teachers Association), Sheryl Barnaby-West, outlined the reasons for the continued protest, which restarted on Thursday morning during an interview.

“Honorable minister, we are asking you please just to fix it, we notice that the personas that our union representatives would have gotten from you to explain to us all these consultations we have had they would have brought explanations to us these personas we are seeing the same thing reflecting on our pay advise so we are asking you just deal with it,” Sheryl Barnaby-West explained in a interview with TVJ.

Sheryly Barnaby-West continued her frustration with the government body by stating,” We notice you did not use that study that was supposed to be used to restructure us, you have done your own thing we realize, we are asking that whatever you have given to us you fix that.”
