Dancehall artiste Teejay has drifted into a new house and onto new a music chart. The deejay celebrated his birthday on October 4 by buying his very first home, which he wasted no time sharing on social media.
The accomplishment left the deejay, who just turned 29, in a joyous mood, but that was not the only reason for his source of happiness.
While Teejay, born Timoy Jones, spoke to his dedicated fans about being the proud owner of a property during a live stream, he also revealed that his single Dift has entered the Billboard Airplay chart.
The pre-summer song that took TikTok by storm, blowing up on the internet with many people dancing to the infectious lyrics and groovy beat, entered the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart at No. 47.
This marks Teejay’s first song on the chart and it is 25 paces behind his rival Byron Messia’s Talibans hit song. After 15 weeks on the chart, Talibans is now at No. 22.
“Mi just find out pan mi birthday seh drift number 47 on di billboard chart, billboard, and i’ve just purchase my first house, ok, so am now a property owner…A just purchase mi first house, today on this day, i got the key,” he said. Adding that he is now ecstatic, he expressed gratitude to his supporters.
