The Caribbean Keeping an eye on Tropical Storm Gabrielle

Tropical Storm Gabrielle that strengthened over the open Atlantic Ocean on Wednesday as the Bahamians try to recover from the devastation caused by hurricane Dorian. National Hurricane Centre (NHC) reported in it’s latest bulletin said Gabrielle was at about 680 miles, west, northwest of the Cabo Verde Islands with a forward speed of 10 mph.

This general motion is expected to continue through Friday, with increased forward speed.

The NHC has also said there are maximum sustained winds of near 40 mph and strengthening that is expected during the next 48 hours.

They have also reported that another Tropical Storm, Ferdinand has been moving towards northeastern Mexico with sustained winds of 50 mph.

While Bahamas Prime Minister Dr Hubert Minnis warned Bahamians to expect a rise in the death toll following the passage of hurricane Dorian.
