Hurricane Beryl which passed just south of Jamaica in early July has been the most impactful to the island this Hurricane season.
However, with the season drawing to a close a system that is now being tracked in the Atlantic Ocean, moving west towards the Caribbean could be the next big development in the region.
The weather system was marked as ‘code orange’ by the U.S. National Hurricane Center. As per supercomputers, the system is expected to pass just north of Jamaica.
As reported by Weather Jamaica, the monitored system could develop into a tropical cyclone within seven days, hence Jamaicans are urged to stay alert.
Southern USA has been impacted the most by hurricanes this season with over 200 lives being lost due to Hurricanes over the past two months.
The next storm/hurricane names are Nadine and Oscar.
