Leroy Russell who is otherwise known as Tommy Lee Sparta a well known gothic Dancehall artiste is currently in police custody as he was requested a few days ago by the Police Superintendent who says they wanted to question the artist in relation to a shooting that took place in Montego Bay.

Even though the deejay has been detained now at the Freeport police station no charges have been laid against him as according to his lawyer Earnest Smith.

The Lawyer mentioned that the holding of Tommy lee by the police was done under (SOE). The attorney further let the news know that the deejay was taken in for questioning where his relations and influence over the Montego Bay “Sparta Gang” is concerned.

The artist is currently under the interrogation of the Counterterrorism and Organized crime investigation branch of the police as they think he has information of interest that will help them.

Attorney of Law Earnest Smith let the news know that Tommy Lee has no affiliation to a gang and that the SOE under a state of emergency can arrest someone without charge for 90 days.

Smith told the JamaicaObserver that “He broke down in tears because he was very emotional that he has left Montego Bay for good and his name is being called”.

He further commented that the police will be proceeding with the questions today where he will make his efforts to help Tommy Lee back to his usual freedom.

The lawyer for the Deejay said that it was not right what the police did as they made him leave from a place where there is no state of emergency to a place currently being under heavy security.

He mentioned that the artist was not very happy about the situation as his client has years moved from Montego Bay and so has no connection to the violence that has erupted in the community of Flankers.

The representative of the dancehall artiste said that at this time the Deejay has been focusing on his music as his career is definitely seeing a rise after being decimated in the past with run-ins with the law.

Tommy Lee Sparta who is well known for his new hits “Under vibes” and Rich badness will be questioned today to see any possible connections to the violence taking place in the Montego Bay community.

It was also in the same place that Tommy Lee’s own six-year-old daughter got shot and injured as a result of a dispute between a group of men.
