Tommy Lee Sparta’s Son ‘Skirdle Sparta’ Talks on Becoming a Dancehall Artiste like His Father – Video
When it comes to Dancehall artistes having children in the music business as well, Vybz Kartel is most known for having two sons who have chosen the entertainment world as their career paths. Elephant Man also has a son doing music too, but little did we know that the incarcerated Tommy Lee Sparta has a son who is also an artiste.
The Sparta deejay shocked the world when he appeared as a feature on a song entitled “Dior Kicks”, for an entertainer by the name of Skirdle Sparta which was later revealed to be the “Uncle Demon” singer’s son.
The young Sparta deejay recently appeared Onstage with the son of Winford Williams, Jason Williams, and spoke with the host about his life, music and much more. To start the interview it was revealed that Skirdle is just 17 years old, and music is a thing he realized was just in his blood which led him to adopt it as his craft.
The Dancehall newcomer stated that he also had an aunt by the name of Selena that was said to have been a big artiste, back in the days. According to Tommy Lee’s son, his biggest inspiration in music comes from his father and Vybz Kartel. The young deejay mentioned that he was used to singing in church and playing instruments like the drum and the keyboard, even further stating that he has the talent of creating his beats.
It was in grade 4 though, that Skirdle Sparta said his interest peaked in music when he went to Kingston to live with his father who would usually have the studio at the house. At that point, the youngster stated he would love to hang out in the studio with his Dad and just freestyle, which was when he started, Tommy Lee saw the musical potential in him and began to support him.
Even though “Dior Kicks” is Skirdle’s first single, the young artiste states it is only his first release, as he has a lot of songs recorded and stored up. For “Dior Kicks” however, the Sparta deejay whose style has been likened to his father said they were just vibing in the studio to the beat when Tommy Lee asked to hear what he could do on it, and the rest is history.
The track is produced by Boss Lady Muzik and is already one of the top songs in the sphere of Dancehall, already racking up over a million views on Youtube. With Skirdle Sparta now in the music business with a solid song it is definitely a good look in representation for Tommy Lee Sparta, who is currently incarcerated due to an illegal gun and ammunition charge that led to his conviction earlier this year.
The “Under Vibes” deejay was given a total concurrent sentence of 3 years in prison which means that “Dior Kicks”, would have been recorded before he got locked up.
