Dancehall artistes battle daily in order to produce and release enjoyable music for their chosen demographic and fans, and streaming platforms like YouTube, Itunes and Spotify, along with other social media platforms play a huge role in allowing these entertainers to distribute their music.

Many big-name male artistes like Vybz Kartel, Masicka, and Alkaline are still dominating the industry including artistes from the younger generation such as Najeeriii, Mallie Donn, and RajahWild.

According to YouTube’s Music Charts & Insights, these are the top 10 male Dancehall artistes in Jamaica right now.

10. TEEJAY

9. NAJEERIII

Newcomer on the block Najeeriii has taken over as his popularity soars with every addition of a new track. He currently ranks ninth(9) overall on the list. Noteworthy songs by Najeeriii include Goon, Paddle Boat, Panton and Earthquake featuring RajahWild.

8. ALKALINE

Popular on the music scene since 2009, the Ardenne High School graduate is known for songs such as Juggernaut, Pretty Girl Team, and Extra Lesson. Alkaline ranks eighth(8) on the list.

7. VYBZ KARTEL

Forever worshipped as the Worl’boss and teacha of the industry, although incarcerated for the last 12 years, Vybz Kartel’s influence and music are still popular in the hearts of many Jamaicans.
