Tropical Depression Now Tropical Storm Ida

The words of the U.S National Weather Service website has come to pass as the tropical depression that has been passing through the Greater Antilles of the Caribbean has now turned into a Tropical storm.

Already the tropical storm has been rapidly developing as it was on Thursday recorded to be moving at a speed of 13 M.P.H With winds up to 45 M.P.H.

As such the Tropical Storm Ida as it is being called is suspected to turn into a Major Hurricane later today, going into tomorrow as it passes through the Cayman Islands touching close to Cuba and the Southeastern Gulf of Mexico.

Tropical Storm warnings had been issued to Jamaica, The Cayman Islands and Cuba with the expected rainfall to be between 10 inches and 20 inches for the countries. Flash flood warnings have also been given, as well as cautions for mudslides and landslides which might occur as a result of the inclement weather.

For the state of Louisiana, a Hurricane Watch has been issued as the storm could reach that stage by Sunday with winds up to 110 M.P.H, as the eye draws close to the state from the Southeastern side of the Gulf of Mexico.
