Tropical Storm Expected to Affect Jamaica on Sunday

A ninth tropical depression has formed over the central Caribbean and is expected to intensify into a tropical storm as it passes Jamaica on Sunday.
According to reports from the National Hurricane Center of the United States, Tropical Depression Nine formed over the central Caribbean Sea on Friday. The system should be closely monitored by Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Western Cuba, and the Eastern US Gulf Coast. Heavy rainfall is likely to spread into Jamaica and the Cayman Islands in the coming days as Depression Nine is expected to approach the island as an intensifying tropical storm, taking on the name Hermine.
Tropical storm Hermine is projected to take a hard north turn by Sunday and into Monday, approaching Cuba. Hermine is expected to intensify into a category two hurricane as it moves towards the Cayman Islands and portions of Western Cuba before making landfall along the western coast of Florida in the US by late Tuesday evening into early Wednesday morning.
