TWO POLICE OFFICERS KILLED TWO INJURED IN SPANISH TOWN, ST CATHERINE

Four (4) police officers have been shot Two(2) fatally while the other two(2) are being treated in hospital following a shoot out with gunmen in Horizon Park Spanish town St Catherine earlier this morning.

Information reaching us is that a team of officers was on an operation in the St. Catherine North division when they came under heavy gunfire from gunmen in the area. Two of the officers reportedly died on the spot while the other two are in the hospital treating their injuries.

A senior superintendent of police, Clunis, is said to be one of the two police men being treated in hospital.

Sources told us that they were under heavy fire for roughly two hours before back up could rescue them. A police response vehicle reportedly Overturned during the incident injuring a number of other officers.

Prime Minister Holness has also tweeted on the matter, while he did not confirm the amount of Police dead he stated “The death of at Least 2 members of the Jamaican Constabulary Force while on Operation early this morning”.
