Tyrese Gibson Arrested for Not Paying 10k Monthly Child Support

45-year-old American R&B singer and actor Tyrese Gibson, best known for his role in the “Fast & Furious” franchise and several love songs, was taken into custody Monday morning after failing to meet court-ordered child support payments.
The Los Angeles native, who shares a five-year-old daughter, Soraya, with ex-wife Samantha Lee, was held in contempt of court on Monday morning during a hearing regarding the matter.
The legal issue arose after Gibson was ordered in April 2023 to pay $10,000 per month in child support. However, reports indicate that Gibson has been making payments of just over $2,000 per month instead of the required amount.
Judge Kevin Farmer, who presided over the hearing, expressed frustration with Gibson’s noncompliance, ultimately leading to the actor being placed in handcuffs by the bailiff and escorted out of the courtroom.
The judge offered Gibson a chance to avoid jail time by paying $73,000, which includes $7,500 in attorney fees for Samantha Lee.
Moments prior to the court hearing, Monday morning Tyrese posted about the matter on Instagram, he shared several photos with the caption, “The love that a father can have for his children can’t quite be explained……. Whatever the outcome is today…… I am and will forever be their FATHER.”

Sources suggest that Gibson is currently working on resolving the payment issue to prevent further legal consequences.
