Unemployment Down In Jamaica

According to a TvJ news report, Jamaica is seeing some form of growth with regards to living conditions, poverty is down and unemployment is up compared to previous years.

Recent Data shows that the number of persons living below the poverty line declined by almost 20%.
The Statistical Institution Of Jamaica STATIN as also confirmed that the unemployment rate is down some 7.8% as of April 2019, down some 2% more from April 2018. Construction as been a major drive in the boast of jobs along with security guard positions, Police and Military Positions.
Jamaica as seen an Economic growth of 1.4% between 2015 and 2016 causing almost 30,000 persons to find work. On the other hand general consumption as gone up by 5% driven mostly by rural developments.
GDP in Jamaica is expected to be 15.80 USD Billion by the end of this quarter, according to Trading Economics global macro models and analysts expectations. In the long-term, the Jamaica GDP is projected to trend around 16.20 USD Billion in 2020, according to our econometric models.
