Residents of the usually quiet and upscale community of Plantation Heights awoke this morning to the gruesome news of the shooting deaths of two security officers at the China Harbour Engineering Compound in Plantation Heights, St. Andrew.
According to information provided to the Jamaica Gleaner, three security guards were performing their nightly duties of ensuring the compound’s security close to midnight last night when men in a motor vehicle infiltrated the private property through the open main gate.
The armed men proceeded to hold the guard at gunpoint at the gate, where they subdued him. The men, who were armed with high-powered weapons, advanced through the compound, where they came across the other security officers.
The Jamaica Gleaner and nationwide radio stated that upon arrival, police officers found 22-year-old Brandon Tristan Small suffering from gunshot wounds and took him to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
The other guard, Lincoln Royal, who was 60 years of age, was later found dead in the trunk of a car on the China Harbour Compound. The third guard who was on duty and missing for a while has been found by the police, however, limited details have been released to the public about the third guard who escaped the attack alive.
Investigators are yet to discern a reason for this horrendous killing.
