Retired Olympic and world sprint champion, now turned artiste, Usain Bolt, recently previewed a clip of a new song in a reel on his Instagram page @usainbolt.
In the short clip, Bolt was observed in the studio with Nugent NJ Walker (manager/artiste/producer), Ricardo Bibi Gardener (former footballer/artiste/producer), Ian Goodison (former footballer), along with two other men, listening to the new song.
The song started with the voice of Ricardo Gardener saying, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I’ll fear no evil: Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies.” The next voice on the track was that of NJ singing the words, “who Jah bless, no man curse” before the clip ended. Below the reel, Bolt left an hourglass emoji with sand flowing from top to bottom. The Trelawny native was born on August 21, 1986. Considered by many as the greatest sprinter of all time, Usain holds the world records for the 100m (9.58s), 200m (19.19s), and 4 × 100m metres relay (36.84s). He has won 8 Olympic gold medals and 11 world championship golds. He retired from Track and Field in 2017.
Bolt began venturing into music as a producer in 2019 when he released the Olympe Rose Riddim comprising artistes such as Dexta Daps, Munga Honorable, Christopher Martin, Ding Dong, and Ricardo Bibi Gardner. His second project, “Immortal Riddim,” was released towards the end of the same year and featured Masicka, Munga Honorable, Vybz Kartel, and Christopher Martin.
As an artiste, he released his first song, “Living the Dream,” a collaboration with NJ, in January 2021. Later that year, he released his debut album, “Country Yutes,” which debuted at #6 on the Reggae/Dancehall Billboard charts. He recently received a plaque for this achievement.
In recent times Usain has encountered some adversity as millions of US dollars are missing from his account at Stocks and Security Limited. The investment company is currently undergoing an investigation for multiple cases of fraud.
