Usain Bolt, the legendary Jamaican sprinter and world record holder, experienced being behind the wheels of the Formula E record-breaking race car.

Days before the start of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, Bolt had the opportunity to test drive their fastest electric single-seater race car, Formula E GENBETA, marking a significant moment that bridges the gap between two different realms of speed and athleticism.

Having retired from professional athletics, Bolt has always expressed his interest in exploring new challenges and avenues beyond the track. Collaborating with Formula E, the world’s premier electric racing series, allows him to indulge in his passion for speed once again, this time in a more sustainable and environmentally friendly manner.

The test drive itself was an exhilarating experience for Bolt, it showcased the immense power and capabilities of the electric single-seater race car. This vehicle is at the forefront of technological innovation, using cutting-edge electric motors and batteries to produce incredible acceleration and speeds that could rival traditional combustion engine-powered cars, as per the race car manufacturers.

Bolt seemed ultra impressed with the car’s performance based on his joyous expressions while driving the race car, “Woah, it’s quick, wow.” The former sprinter also showed off his signature ‘To The World’ pose and celebrated his lap around the race track.

Bolt expressed his joy after his lap by stating, “The GENBETA race car is like a rocket ship on wheels. Getting the chance to drive it was a mind-blowing experience, the power from the start was such a surprise, and the adrenaline you got is on a different level, easily.”

He continued, “Driving the GENBETA was like nothing I’ve experienced before. I was told that as soon as you drive, you don’t want to stop or get out, and they were right, I would do it every day if I could, if I get more time, I will definitely go faster.”
