Despite no positive update on the health condition of Trinidadian Dancehall artiste Meschach Emmanuel, better known as ‘Plumpy Boss’, the latest reports are that the deejay was not permitted to perform on the island.
Videos now making rounds online, show the deejay being transported via ambulance with police escort to an airport to be airlifted to Trinidad where he is expected to receive further medical care.
As per the Dancehall artiste’s mother, he is in a medically induced coma with a bullet lodged in his brain.
The Sint Maarten government has distanced itself from the recent shooting, with the minister of Justice Lyndon Lewis stating, “Neither I nor the Acting Minister of Justice have permitted anyone to enter this country. We have not issued any permit of any kind to the individual.”
Lewis explained that the entertainer’s presence on the island was likely due to promoters allowing him entry on a tourist visa without informing the government. “That is why we are conducting an investigation,” he added.
Emmanuel, 26, was shot in the head after his performance in St. Maarten, he was reported to be in serious condition. Several other of his associates were shot during the incident that took place over the weekend.
