Vybz Kartel linked up with Dj Khaled in Florida at Khaled’s home studio, producers TJ and Cordel Skatta Burrell were also a part of the endeavour. Both Kartel and Khaled who are 49 years old shared over a dozen photos from the linkup while hinting at new music being in the pipeline.
Khaled’s mansion, worth a reported $25.9 million is located in Miami and notably fellow legendary Jamaican musician Buju Banton also visited the location on his return to the USA in over a decade.
Over the years, DJ Khaled has shown a special love for Jamaica and Dancehall in particular. Having worked with Buju Banton, Capleton, Sizzla and others, now Vybz Kartel is expected to appear on a DJ Khaled-produced track in the near future.
This linkup comes days after Khaled announced the title of his next album, Aalam of God, which will be his 14th album. Two Drake songs were said to be featured on the project, however, Drake refuted that claim with a comment, causing Khaled to delete the post on social media.
Hence, Having one or two tracks from Vybz Kartel could be Khaled’s get back, given the hype surrounding the Jamaicn artiste at the moment and Drake being at one of the lowest points in his career, still reeling from Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ diss song.
Sharing photos from the linkup to his 3.1 million followers, Kartel wrote, “#Music #GodistheGreatest Seek Purpose and Abundance, Hate won’t get you Far.”
On the other hand, Khaled shared the photos to his 38.8 million followers on Instagram with a more detailed caption, seemingly confirming that Vybz Kartel will be on his upcoming album, stating, “WORLD BOSS 🌎 X AALAM OF GOD 🌎 @vybzkartel DID! Album sounding amazing. Can’t wait for you to hear it. Love conquers all.”
And, “@wethebest the vybe is positive And amout! Fully active! @vybzkartel @tjrecords @skattaburrell GOD IS THE GREATEST!”
No audio was shared from the proceedings, hence only time will tell what they cooked up in the studio.
