The Jamaican DJ Vybz Kartel hinted at new music with dancehall juggernaut Masicka in a post to one of his fan pages. Vybz Kartel, whose given name is Adidja Palmer, has been incarcerated since 2011. The songwriter was sentenced to life imprisonment three years after he was first arrested for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.
On the other hand, Vybz Kartel has not forgotten about his fans, releasing a slew of new songs while imprisoned. Since then, he has been attending multiple court hearings in an attempt to be freed of the charges he has been convicted of.
The image that was posted to Instagram on Thursday depicted both his name and that of the Greatness singer Masicka, as well as the title of the song, “Shootaz.” The image also depicts the name of the record label that is producing the music, Adidjahiem Records, and then the post is captioned, “Coming soon”.
Based on the artwork which features skull and bones covered in fire plus a pistol in hand, the new unreleased track will be a gun song a badman song much like their previous release Infrared.
A specific date for the release of the track has not yet been released, however, fans have been making comments on the post indicating that they are excited about the song’s release.

Masicka was born in Portmore, St. Catherine, where Vybz Kartel was living before his imprisonment. Masicka’s talents bloomed, and under mentorship, he grew exponentially.
