Vybz Kartel Bashes Artistes Supporting Politics with Dubs

Over the years several dancehall artistes have done songs in support of their preferred political party or candidates. Since the announcement of Jamaica’s next general election which is set for September 3rd, 2020, several Dancehall artistes have made dubs in support of both PNP and JLP. Notably, Lisa Hanna has the top two trending dubs from both Shenseea and Spice.

Shenseea, Spice, Stylo G, Daddy1, Christopher Martin, Jahvillani, Teejay, Dovey Magnum, etc have done dubs for party candidates and according to Dovey “PNP affi win dis yah time”.

Vybz Kartel did not take to these dubs lightly and believes that artistes who are doing politics music are running down a hype. Vybz Kartel stated “Wah do dem 🤡🤡🤡🤡 ya inna music weh a run dung hype? . Dis a my dub”. attached his post to his music video called “Emergency” which condemns both JLP and PNP.

Vybz Kartel’s previous run-in with Lisa Hanna seemingly is one of the reasons why he shared what he thinks of the current viral songs.

According to Hanna, Vybz Kartel’s music should be banned from public airwaves, hence Vybz Kartel knows that if she gets the authority to stop his music from being played on the radio, tv, etc she would stop it. Lisa also highlights the fact that Vybz Kartel is able to release countless music and this should not be so.

Spice and Lisa Hanna are known to be good friends and we do believe that in Spice and Shenseea’s eyes they are doing it for “Women Empowerment” and not necessarily party preference. With that said Lisa Hanna is a PNP hence fans online are claiming that Both artistes are PNP and have taken a side in the upcoming election.

In Spice’s dub she highlights the fact that Lisa Hanna fixed many roads in St. Ann and is a former Miss Jamaica World amongst other things while Shenseea highlights the fact that Mrs. Hanna has her own money and don’t need any man to point her in the right direction.
