Vybz Kartel Celebrates “Victorious!!!!” Appeal

Portmore deejay Vybz Kartel took to Instagram on Thursday to express his jubilation after winning his appeal at the UK Privy Council. In a post made on social media, he wrote, “Victorious” and “Anytime now” as he also gives credit to his lawyer Isat Buchanan.

He wrote, “Victorious!!!! @isatbuchanan Anytime now! #quashed #bussoff #238”

The Queen of Dancehall herself, in solidarity with her fellow dancehall artiste, commented, “FREE WORLD 🌎 BOSS 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 FLY THE GATE …Buss offfffffff #quashed.” She even recently changed her Instagram display picture to match Kartel’s profile image.

This momentous ruling saw Vybz Kartel and the other co-accused men acquitted of their 2014 murder conviction for the killing of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams. Attorney at law Bert Samuels, who represents Shawn Storm also hailed the decision as a victory in an interview with Nationwide shortly after the announcement.

Support poured in from other Jamaican artistes such as Tommy Lee Sparta, Demarco, Laden, and Shane O, who left comments under Vybz Kartel‘s Instagram posts, expressing their solidarity and celebrating the legal triumph.

Shawn Storm who is usually outspoken online is yet to react to the ruling by the UK Privy Council.

The accused men are expected to apply for bail as soon as possible.
