Vybz Kartel Continues To Release Music From Prison – Investigation Launched

According to Irie FM via Instagram post, popular although still incarcerated Dancehall megastar Vybz Kartel is currently being investigated because of his continuous presence on the music scene by still releasing songs and appearing in music videos.

Joyce Stone is the Deputy Commissioner of Corrections for Jamaica at the Department of Correctional Services. She was reportedly speaking at Antigua and Barbuda’s Ministry of Legal Affairs’- Legal symposium that was held in St. Kitts when she stated that the artiste’s continued involvement in the music industry should have been prohibited as he was not permitted by the correctional services of Jamaica to do so.

Stone further went on to say that, unlike the entertainer Jah Cure who was allowed to release music as a part of his rehabilitation strategy while imprisoned, Kartel had no such luxuries afforded to him. She said that Vybz Kartel is an Appellant and as such he is innocent until proven guilty and should not be engaged in the particulars of music production.

The Instagram post has received comments that question the existence of music videos shot after the entertainer was imprisoned and many others are either wondering why this was publicized at an event held in another country or continue to spread words of encouragement to have the artiste freed.
