Vybz Kartel Criticized for Choosing a “White Woman”
Aside from the many fans online praising Worl’Boss’ every move, others are actively pointing out some of his decisions that can be deemed questionable. Aside from his bleached skin, some critics are having issues with his current female of choice, Sidem Öztürk.
Saturday night, popular American activist Umar Rashad Ibn Abdullah-Johnson took to Instagram to share a message he seemingly got from a supporter to his one million fans on the platform.
Apart from the message reads, “Famous dancehall artist Vybz Kartel just got released from prison and immediately hugged up on a white woman that he claims to be his new wife… It’s beyond disgusting and a disgrace to Jamaica and Black woman.”
While Abdullah-Johnson did not give his personal views on the matter, the comments section has been going wild, with comments for and against Vybz Kartel favouring a foreign woman as his “wifey”.
One IG user wrote, “As a Jamaican I will confess that Jamaica is a very colorist island,twenty out of the twenty five richest family that owns that island are non Afro Jamaican,” another said, “He’s bleaching, so I don’t know what she expected.”
Siding with Kartel, another person wrote, “do OTHER races of men who date outside their race allegedly experience self hate as well? Or is that just us ?” Another person said, “She’s not white so I’m confused.”
