Vybz Kartel Makes $1 Million Donation to His Former School, Waterford Primary

Before attending Calabar High School in St. Andrew for his secondary education, Vybz Kartel attended the Waterford Primary School in Portmore, St. Catherine, and the deejay has made a massive donation to the institution.
Reports state that the Summer Time artiste made the donation on Friday, with a representative presenting the school’s administrative staff with a $1 million donation on his behalf.
The donation comes on the heels of his successful Freedom Street concert in December and follows a previous donation of hundreds of books and stationery items by Kartel’s family last September.
According to the Jamaica Observer, Waterford’s administrators are already planning how the funds will be used to help the school’s programmes.
“Part of the funds will help to bolster the performing arts programme and the plan also is to buy some computers. Also, they will be doing a treat for the children next week,” a source from the school shared with the Observer.
The news outlet further disclosed that Kartel’s team intends to make a statement regarding his donation soon.
