Dancehall icon Vybz Kartel has commented on the fire that destroyed multiple attorney offices on Duke Street in Downtown, Kingston, last Thursday. The fire reportedly destroyed significant documents related to Vybz Kartel’s murder case, and the Gaza boss is blaming “Babylon” for starting the fire.

On Wednesday, Vybz Kartel expressed his belief that the authorities started the fire, hinting that it was a tactic to keep him behind bars. The comment was made under a social media post about the incident by Yardhype.

Under the post, IG user yoambrella, tagged the deejay in a comment reading, “@vybzkartel THEY ALWAYS WANT TO SINK VYBZ KAATEL.” Vybz Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, responded, “@yoambrella dem a try but SYM Babylon!!! a pon iCloud file keep now.”

A similar statement was made by recently popular Vybz Kartel fan page Shemar McKennon, saying, “Feds bwoy dem bun dung John Clark/Isat Buchanan office thinking they could destroy the files. Its 2024, Files are stored on cloud u  f**king idiots!”

The May 9th fire was reported to the York Park Fire Station at 2:07 a.m. and the building was completely consumed by flames when the authorities arrived at the scene.

The Jamaica Observer reported that, until recently, one of the offices in the building was used by Kartel’s attorney, Isat Buchanan. As investigators work to determine the cause of the fire, they have noted the building’s wooden flooring as a significant factor.
