Vybz Kartel’s Before and After Prison Photos Go Viral

World-renowned Dancehall artiste Adidja Azim Palmer, more popularly known as Vybz Kartel, was released from prison on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, and on Thursday, images of the entertainer while he was being locked up in 2011 and after he was released in 2024 went viral on social media due to the stark contrast of the images.
The almost 13 years he spent behind bars took a toll on his health which is now reflected in his appearance and many individuals on X are comparing how Kartel looks now to how he looked going into prison. Someone even stated, “Look weh prison do to mi artiste.”
Before his release, it was confirmed to the public that the Summer Time singer was battling multiple ailments including the incurable condition, Graves’ disease.
In photo number one, Kartel looks fit and healthy with locs down to his shoulders while photo number two shows the entertainer with an enlarged head, sunken eyes, and shorter hair. Notably, he has also grown a bigger belly.
The images racked up over 1.7 million views in five hours after they were shared together on X on Thursday.
The X comment section was filled with contradictions with people worried about his health or condemning him for Williams’ murder.
Nungua Burnaboy said, “Well his physician says he’s developing a heart failure and has Graves’ disease. We wish the world boss all the best in his health.” On the other hand, Wambo stated, “This man killed someone and chopped them into pieces yet some of u are celebrating like Nelson Mandela was set free.”
