Was Mr. Vegas standing up for women in the church?

[Sharingbuttons]Mr. Vegas and his fight for the rights of women in the church has been getting a lot of attention and people have different opinions about what he is saying about Pastor Gino Jennings after the pastor called women who wear makeup and wigs whores. There are some people who think Mr. Vegas is an attention seeker who is planning to put out new music and realizes that his career in the music business is failing after 20 years, and there are those who think he is doing what is right and he should be supported.

During an interview, he spoke about his visit to Pastor Jennings’ church and how he was thrown out of the church by his own people because of an American preacher. He said this happened because his people don’t read anything for themselves, they just believe what they are told and he is trying to save them because something is wrong with the church in Jamaica. He came to this conclusion when he thought about the fact that there are more churches in Jamaica than many other countries and the murder rate in Jamaica is still one of the highest in the world.

He resented the cricketer Marlon Samuels for laughing at him and said he doesn’t know when he might get poor, so he should be humble, before he spoke about taking his children out of school and not taking them to any of the churches as he thinks the churches are holding on to the oppressors dogma and the people need to be set free. He even said he thought the people who support Pastor Jennings were programmed like those affected by the Willie Lynch Syndrome. 

No one knows where this drama will end we can only hope that somehow the murder rate will decrease in Jamaica as that is much more important than wigs and make up.
