Watch: Dancehall Artiste Omar Engages Fans with “Entrap” Music Video

Upcoming dancehall artiste Omar, born Dwayne Allen, released his debut single, Entrap, in 2022 and further enticed fans with the release of the track’s music video.

The dancehall newcomer expressed in a recent interview with the Jamaica Observer that pursuing a musical career has been a lifelong dream for him. As he strives to make his big break in the Jamaican entertainment scene, Omar is hoping to impress with his versatility, as he is not only a deejay but also a singer and a rapper.

Entrap was released via Omarrecord$. The track’s music video begins with a quick intro by the deejay, who elucidates the meaning behind the song’s title, which is a play on the word entrepreneur.

“A businessman is called entrap. Infinite money me wah chop [ … ] Now me have girls, play and a nap. New name for hustle is called entrap. Unlimited money, wah chap,” Omar sings, seated behind a table strewn with cash freshly checked by a pair of video vixens.

The entertainer is currently working on his debut album and plans to release new singles before the project drops. Omar has declared that he is not a one-dimensional artiste and will prove so with his upcoming singles.
