Born in St Andrew’s Jamaica, Narada Rose aka Dertee went to England to live with family. At the age of 14 Narada decided to start writing music for fun and discovered that he was good at it, but never had the right encouragement behind him to pursue it further until the age of 25 after talking to his Grammy Award Winning uncle Mykal Rose.
Dertee has been tested on several occasions however refuses to accept the knock backs of life, instead using those knock backs as a passion or a muse to succeed in the music industry. When he is asked what keeps him going, his answer is simply… “The love for the music”

Dertee is recognised namely for tracks like: ‘Calmly’, ‘Fake People’ and for his infamous collaborations with Masicka ‘The Topic’ Bramma ‘Bruklife’ and his most recent track ‘Fight for survival’, which debuted at #50 on the U.K iTunes charts the highest position that it reached was #18 and the song also charted at #1 on the iTunes reggae charts.

​In 2013 Dertee dropped his first mixtape ‘Diamond In The Dirt’ to gain street credibility on the underground scene. Off the back of the mixtape, he released his debut single ‘DJ Turn It Up’, which proved to be a success as it charted #1 in the reggae chart, #3 best seller for song & album, #28 for new release’s in all genre’s on the Amazon charts.

Dertee has previously gained support on Reprezent FM (playlisted), 1xtra’s Seani B, Charlie Sloth and Mista Jam as well as being picked for BBC 1xtra Introducing track of the week in 2015 for his single ‘Fake People’ featuring Sneakbo. The video received regular plays on Sky TV channels such as Flava, Chart Show TV and Bliss.

Since then the YouTube views of this video have climbed to over 200,000. His follow up single ‘Work Hard Remix’ featuring Stylo G has gained over 1 million views on YouTube, which has helped to build up Dertee’s fan base and gave him the opportunity to perform at various cities across the UK.

In 2016 Dertee released his first Ep titled ‘Defeating Gravity’, which earned him an Award for Best Male Artist of 2016 at the REYAC Awards in Birmingham, this motivated Dertee to push harder as he saw this as one step closer to achieving his goal.

Dertee then went on to release his first album ‘Breaking Barriers’ in 2017 although it hadn’t received the recognition he had hoped for it did contribute to another win at the REYAC Awards for best male artist of 2017 as well as open the doors for further opportunities and more insight into the music industry.


In 2018 Dertee was introduced to Bramma through a mutual friend, after an exchange in conversation they had both agreed to do a collaboration together. ‘Bruk Life’ proved to be a big sensation receiving 1million views on youtube, which was a landmark achievement for two reasons. Not only was this the second time that this had been done, it was the first to be done on his own personal youtube channel, and he also received a hattrick at the REYAC awards winning the best male artist of 2018 for the third consecutive year.


In 2019 Dertee has released a number of singles globally which are proving to be successful and has now completed his new EP ‘Thru di Gate’ which will be released on the 17th January 2020.
