In May 2021, the two-month-old infant was reported missing and two weeks after the infant’s disappearance, Boggs admitted in an interview with missing persons advocate that she rolled over on her baby while she was sleeping in bed.
According to WRC-TV, Boggs said that she was under the influence of angel dust, when it happened and, after finding her baby unresponsive, she threw out the body in a panic.
“He was ‘sleep on my chest and when I woke up, he wasn’t breathing anymore, because he was just that small. He was only 2 months old. He was a premature baby,” she confessed. “I came back in the house and got a blanket and his car seat, and wrapped it up and took it outside and just threw it in the trash.”
A search was launched with cadaver dogs at a landfill in Charles City County, Virginia, but the body of her son was never found.
Boggs was initially charged with murder, but with the body still not found, her charge was later changed to tampering with evidence.
Boggs, who was awaiting trial, was found dead a few days by the child’s father, Carl Jones. The 44-year –old man was charged with second-degree murder while armed. The detectives reported that Boggs’ killing was “domestic in nature”, but they are currently unable to say if her death was connected to the death of her son.
