Reggae artiste YG Marley officially released his second single on Tuesday, May 14 titled, ‘Survival‘. It’s a song about self-love and finding greatness inside. The track also stick to Reggae’s roots of hitting out against the oppressive system that’s always trying to take “control”.

Survival‘ is the follow-up track to his hit song ‘Praise Jah in the Moonlight‘ and it takes on a similar path of being spiritually driven and slow in tempo.

Some lyrics, “Control, control, they want control of we… but we’ll keep on surviving… they keep on fighting us… They don’t us to be who we suppose to be but we are who we are and that’s the way it’s going to be… never ever let them put you in a bubble.”

On Tuesday, the 3rd generation Marley took to Instagram to announce the release of the song after earlier stating that the song would be released on the day, he wrote, “Matter of fact I’m not waiting anymore. OUT NOW!!”

Also on Tuesday, Reggae Sumfest announced that YG Marley is confirmed to perform on Night One of the performances. The news, announced via an Instagram post has the caption, “YG Marley had been added to the Reggae Sumfest lineup and is set to take the stage on Friday, July 19th 2024!”
