Jamie King, the mother of murder-accused rapper YNW Melly, has shared that she made over US$40,000 during her first day on Only Fans.
Over the past few years, more and more women have flocked to the subscription service platform OnlyFans to find what many have dubbed more gainful employment than traditional jobs. While OnlyFans is also home to varied types of creators, such as musicians, the platform was popularised for its adult content.
Melly‘s mother announced in December 2023 that she had started an OnlyFans account and encouraged fans to visit her account in an Instagram post. The post featured a selfie of her in a black long-sleeved top and her underwear.
Following the announcement, King discussed joining OnlyFans during an interview with entertainment blogger Tasha K. Speaking about her decision to go on the platform, King expressed that, as she was turning 40 in December, she thought, “Why not do something crazy?”
King also rhetorically questioned why she shouldn’t have, as people can make money while they sleep. Though she did not give an exact amount, King went on to describe her first day on OnlyFans as epic, disclosing that she made $40–$50,000 in less than 24 hours.
At the time of the launch of her OnlyFans account, she was charging subscribers $10.99 a month for access to her account. Unlike King’s positive perception of OnlyFans, viewers of the interview snippet have described it as inappropriate for a mother.
