Yohan Blake Advised to Start a “Podcast” Like Asafa Powell and Justin Gatlin

Reacting to Yohan Blake‘s statements about Jamaican supporters, many online users are advising the joint second-fastest man in the world to call it quits. Also before his comments, critics have been commenting online, urging him to retire because of his disappointing races in recent times.
Blake finished 8th in his most recent race, clocking a time of 10.23 which is far off his personal best of 9.69s which he did over a decade ago in 2012.
According to Blake, “My own country Jamaica doesn’t give me the respect and I’m happy they don’t because other people outside do and they appreciate me more than my own country.” The optimistic athlete also said, “I know what is causing my problem and i’m not afraid.”
Amidst all the criticism, many people have been reminding the Jamaican that he’s loved and ‘supported’ by them. “Him deserve his flowers,” said one Facebook user, another said, “Not everyone disrespect you Yohan..Some persons do..While the rest of us are proud of you and the great contribution you gave our country.. hats off to you..There will always be naysayers..Nuff love…”
While on Reddit, in favour of Blake, another person wrote, “Omar McLeod, the 2016 Olympic Champion in the 110mH, said the same thing and got emotional in his interview. What’s happening in the Jamaican track and field scene…”
On the other hand, the criticisms outweigh the nice words. On Reddit, in reaction to a post by Yardhype on the matter, one user advised the sprinter to get some equipment and start a podcast like others have done, namely “Gatlin”.
Notably, Asafa Powell has also started a podcast with his wife and has so far interviewed many great sprinters such as Elaine Thompson-Herah, Noah Lyles and Justin Gatlin.
The person wrote, “Bro needs to get the podcast equipment out like Gatlin… IT IS OVER YOHAN!”
