Yohan Blake Opens His Restaurant in Florida Ahead of Hurricane

Sprinter Yohan Blake managed to open his restaurant as planned on Tuesday in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, despite the impending hurricane. The restaurant is called the Butcher’s Barrell and footage from the grand opening was shared online.

At the end of September, Blake announced that he would be “finally” opening his restaurant venture. A day before the opening, with news of hurricane Milton closing in on the area, Blake stated, “Rain or shine, our doors will be open tomorrow!”

Fast forward to September 8, Blake shared several footage from the event which was seemingly a success.

One of the footage shared shows Blake and several of his associates standing together in front of the restaurant, decorated with balloons, a ribbon was also cut after introductory speeches were done.

His post on Instagram, following the opening had the caption, “I am very grateful.”

Blake was congratulated by many fellow Jamaicans including cricketer Chris Gayle who also owns his very own restaurant in Jamaica called Triple Century Sports Bar.
