York Castle High Past Student Is The New Recipient Of The Rhode Scholarship

Another Jamaican has recently been a recipient of the coveted Rhode scholarship and this time, the lucky student is Fitzroy Wickham, a student of the Wesleyan University in Connecticut, and a past student of York Castle High.
Wickham graduated in the year 2014, from York Castle High school, and according to a teacher who spoke with TVJ news, the young man got an amount of 24 subjects for both Csec and Cape.
Wickham said, he never believed his dreams could manifest with the scholarship, and so he thought about it hard before applying this summer.
The Rhode scholarship offers, students the ability to study at Oxford University, at a Postgraduate level and helps 89 recipients per year.
Fitzroy who is currently studying to be a neurosurgeon, and an actor, has many trophies at his home and states that growing up, he was always one to always be reading and so his grades were always good in school.
His mother is also very proud of his achievement, and she says Fitzroy has proven that greatness, can come out of the rural community of Brown’s Town.
